This Queen Anne bureau cabinet by Jonathan Charles, from the Windsor collection, interprets an early eighteenth-century original in walnut veneer. The upper cabinet has ogee moulded fielded panels that open to a hand-painted Chinoiserie interior in black and gilt, fitted with drawers and cupboards. The fall-front base adds inlaid detailing across the drawer fronts. Standing around 250cm tall and 112cm wide, it is a traditional statement piece for a study, library or formal sitting room.
