The Conpanna Buying Guide
The Conpanna Buying Guide
At Conpanna Living, design isn’t just about filling rooms — it’s about creating balance, comfort, and spaces that feel like you. Our collections are curated for their craftsmanship, timelessness, and ability to live beautifully in real homes.
This guide brings together expert advice and practical tips to help you make confident, considered choices when investing in furniture, lighting, and décor for your space.
1. Measuring with Intention
Good design starts with good proportions. Before ordering, measure your space carefully — not just to see what fits, but to understand how your room will flow.
Measure the room:
- Width & length of the full space (including alcoves or projections)
- Ceiling height (especially for tall storage or pendant lighting)
- Doorways, stairways, and hallways for delivery access
Measure the piece:
- Width — arm to arm or edge to edge
- Depth — front to back
- Height — floor to top point
Conpanna Tip: Use painter’s tape on the floor to mark out your chosen piece. It’s the easiest way to visualise proportions and flow.
2. Choosing the Right Sofa
Your sofa sets the tone for how you live — whether it’s relaxed, refined, or family-friendly.
Sofa Types:
- Two-Seater: Ideal for smaller rooms or paired with an accent chair.
- Three-Seater: A timeless all-rounder for most living rooms.
- Corner / Chaise: Defines open-plan spaces and adds luxury scale.
- Modular: Flexible and adaptable — perfect for evolving spaces.
Materials:
- Linen blends — natural, relaxed charm.
- Velvet — rich texture and colour depth.
- Leather — timeless luxury with durability.
Conpanna Tip: Leave 70cm of clear space in front of sofas or between furniture pieces for comfortable movement.
3. Dining with Purpose
Dining is where life happens — from daily breakfasts to long conversations over wine.
Choosing the Shape:
- Rectangular: Best for longer rooms and larger gatherings.
- Round: Encourages flow and connection.
- Oval: A balanced option — space-saving yet generous.
Materials:
- Wood: Classic and grounding.
- Glass: Opens up smaller rooms visually.
- Stone or Composite: Durable and statement-making.
Conpanna Tip: Allow 60–80cm per person for comfortable dining spacing.
4. Lighting with Intention
Lighting defines atmosphere and depth. A layered lighting plan is key:
- Ambient: Overhead lighting to set the tone.
- Task: Focused light for reading, cooking, or vanity areas.
- Accent: Adds drama, highlights texture or art.
Conpanna Tip: For statement pendants, keep at least 75cm clearance above dining tables and 210cm above walkways.
5. Layering & Styling
The difference between a room that’s styled and one that’s designed is in the layers.
Mix textures — smooth stone with woven linen, warm metals with matte ceramics. Play with scale and balance, leaving negative space so each piece can breathe.
Style Families You’ll See in Our Curation:
- Modern Earth: Warm neutrals, stone textures, and organic silhouettes.
- Contemporary Luxe: Polished finishes with calm restraint.
- Refined Minimalism: Simple, sculptural, and timeless.
Conpanna Tip: Design is about restraint as much as selection. Choose fewer, better pieces.
