This Napoleon III style coffee table by Jonathan Charles is round, with a mahogany veneered surround and a glass centre panel. It stands on a trefoil brass base with three rams' feet legs, a classical detail that gives the piece real presence. At about 87.5 cm across and 51.5 cm high, it suits a traditional or eclectic sitting room, where the glass lets the brass base and rich timber show through.
